Making a Purchase
Our online shop is available only to private individuals who are over the legal drinking age in their country of residence.
All payments are handled securely by Paypal or Stripe on behalf of the Orkney Wine Company.
If you do not have a paypal account, you can check out as guest through paypal.
All products offered are subject to availability and we cannot guarantee availability of products listed.
Prices may change subsequently due to tax or duty fluctuations or for any other reason. Any price changes will be notified and confirmed to you via your order confirmation receipt.
Shipping & Handling
Postage and Packaging to anywhere in the UK:
Postage and packaging is charged at £9.95
We reserve the right to make alterations to the P&P rates.
For international shipping costs please contact us. Please note international shipping is expensive due to the weight of the bottles.
For orders within the United Kingdom we use Royal Mail Special Delivery for orders of one bottle, and Parcelforce 48 for larger orders. Due to our remote location delivery can take 1 week. Orders are usually shipped within two days of receipt, excluding weekends. Please note we despatch orders of more than one bottle Monday – Thursday only.
For international shipping destinations we will provide details of delivery times with notification of P&P costs prior to your acceptance and dispatch.
Regrettably it is not possible for us to send wine to the USA or Canada due to import regulations.
Credit Card Security
All payments and credit card details are handled securely by Paypal or Stripe on behalf of the Orkney Wine Company. We are fully certified and PCI DSS compliant.
We do not disclose buyers’ information to third parties. Cookies are used on this site to keep track of the contents of your shopping cart once you have selected an item, to store addresses if the address book is used and to store your details if the ‘Remember Me’ option is selected.
We will use your email address only to send you updates on the progress of your order, unless you give us permission to send you updates on new products and product offers.
All our products are tested and analysed by an independent specialist wine laboratory.
All deliveries are insured, however, breakages must be reported at time of delivery. Please ensure to inspect all packages.
We ONLY accept the return of goods and offer a full refund when:
- goods are faulty/damaged (please notify at time of delivery)
- and/or goods are clearly different from those ordered
Refunds will be credited to your account upon receipt of the goods.
This returns policy does not affect your statutory rights.
