GUESTBOOK We
are always delighted to hear from customers, so if you would like
to recommend a wine/food combination or have comments appropriate
for a guestbook please email
us and we'll put up a selection here
During the
tall ships race 2011 we visited the Italian chapel, where we
found a wine shop. As the rain was pouring down
on
us we entered the shop. We were surprised when we noticed that
the shopkeeper was originally Dutch, some of our group were from
Holland as well, so we started
a chat (I was one of the Dutch). We bought some wine after we tasted
some as well. I was really surprised about the taste and even more
surprised about the idea to make wine and other alcoholic drinks
from all of those fruits.
I wish you all the best for the future.
cheers, the
Dutch guy
My husband
and I brought back some bottles of your excellent
wines to Germany during our holiday in Scotland last spring (unfortunately,
we spent only one day on Orkney). And every single one has been
absolutely delicious. We planned some of them to be gifts, but
in the end only two made it any further than our own larder *ggg*.
Raspberrylicious is sensational and Strubarb went perfectly with
our christmas dinner´s dessert. As we - unfortunately -
won´t come back to Orkney in the next months, we´ll
definitely fill up our stocks via the online shop in the near
future. Best wishes,
Silke + Marc from Germany
I
wish to let you all know that the Raspberrylicious is simply
delicious. I
have just made a Christmas order and as always I will
be including the Elderberry Borealis. I love the new shop and so
will all the visitors - everyone who visits Orkney in 2009 will
have the opportunity to drop in - a 'must do' on the tourist trail. Patricia
Sinclair, Kirkwall, Orkney
Christmas
isn't the same without Black Portent now that we have discovered
it..great
gifts for discerning palates too! E Hayes, Nottingham
Bought a few
bottles of your wine during my first visit to Orkney. I fell
in love with the Elderberry Borealis. Can't wait til they are
available here in the Netherlands. Cheers! Ruud Witte, Gouda,
The Netherlands
Thank
you for my order of six bottles of your excellent wines. So
far I have tried the Gooseberry and Blueberry and was very
pleased to find that the clean, crisp taste of these wines
is completely different to that which I experience when drinking
wines with sulphur. You said that the Gooseberry has
a small amount of sulphur to prevent secondary fermentation
in the bottle but I have been unable to detect this.
I still have Gorse and Rosehip to try yet but I feel sure they
will match the high standard of the others. I don't drink wine
every day so am pleased to find that your claim regarding the
keeping quality of your wines - in spite of their low sulphur
content - is entirely correct. I still have a small amount
of the Blueberry left (opened the day after it arrived) and
it tastes as fresh today as it did two weeks ago. It may be
a while before I re-order from you due to my limited consumption,
but having tasted your non-chemically produced wines I am now
sure that I can't go back to buying the usual sulphur polluted
wines that are commonly available.
With thanks and best wishes, Nathan Gill , Kent
My
Husband and I have just enjoyed a bottle of your Hop wine,
purchased and saved from last year on a holiday in Shetland.
Absolutely delicious!! and really refreshingly different.
Best Regards Carol Quinn, Winchester
I brought
a bottle of the rhubarb and strawberry wine for my sister in
law after our last holiday, but when we arrived
home I was so loth to part with it, i gave her a bottle of
meade
from our local outlet, and drank your wine myself. I am so
ashamed, but it was worth the slight deception. I have put
in a request to the outlet in question, asking if they might
stock your wines, they already have Orkney cheese, so hopefully....
Yours sincerely, Brenda Dewhurst, a very appreciative
consumer
I bought two
bottles of Black Portent at the game fair at Glamis Castle on
the 1st of September. I have done nothing but rave
about how good your wine is to my family and friends at work.
I have been trying to find wine of that calibre in supermarkets
for years and can't bellieve I finally found the wine I have
been looking for! Shamis, Fife
Nectar
of the gods! John Smith
I just
thought I'd tell you that I ordered for the first time recently
and received my bottle of Strubarb, which is wonderful!!!
I drank far too much last night, as it was so gorgeous. So
thanks
very much - I'll definitely be ordering again. Alison
O'Brien
I am
amazed at the quality of the wine and the service was superb.
Two days after placing my order on-line, I was sipping the
newly delivered wine! May your business go from strength
to strength. Christine Boyer, Oxfordshire
We bought
a bottle of your Hop wine in Skye last year and enjoyed it
very much. We make home-made wines ourselves, so an extra
part of the interest was trying to work out all the ingredients
you had used: the taste was excitingly different from the
other
wines we know already (grape/traditional) Richard Bennett
My wife
and I first visited Orkney in April this year whilst on our
honeymoon after marrying in the Highlands. We instantly fell
in love with
the islands and the people and we can't wait to return. We sampled your wine in
Stromness and became 'hooked'. Mark & Nicola MacDonald
Following
a holiday to Orkney I have fallen in love with your wine! Jacqui
Maunder
Thank
you for the Cranberry wine. The quality of this Weines is fantastisch!
Many greetings, Michael/Germany
I have
just tried a wee glass of your Black Portent. I think I've died
and gone to heaven - I've never tasted anything as good! I look
forward to trying all your other recipes in the near future.

I got
a bottle of Black Portent as a Christmas present and just wanted
to say how fantastic it is. I shall be making use of your online
ordering in future! Regards Leanne Aitken
